Naples player Christian Paz chosen in the top 30 U.S. Futsal
Paz is an active team player in Ecuador "Premier A" in Naples Futsal League, who attended the first "ID Camp" organized by U.S. Soccer through the senior team coach Coach Tozer.
Fernando Orellana, director of Naples Futsal, received a notification of the federation of the ID Camp and immediately reported on its website and on his Facebook page. He also informed the coaches of the major divisions for their players to take this opportunity to be tested.
Christian Paz did not miss this opportunity. Paz received a letter of recommendation from Naples Futsal and traveled to California Futsal. Naples player participated in about 25 games in two days as part of the process of selecting players.
After three days of testing was chosen in the group of thirty.Over 120 players from different Futsal leagues in the country were submitted to the convening of the federation of the ID Camp.
Paz is only a U.S. resident and is still in process for citizenship, so it was left out of the second call. The rules stipulate that to be part of a national team player must be a citizen or national origin and must have a passport of that country.
"We are very sorry for Christian because the papers could not reach before the second call, but now with Naples Futsal we will continue to support and assist, within our possibilities, to young talents who have a great future," said Orellana as president of Futsal Naples League.
For his part, Christian Paz, is pleased because he said it was a great experience.
The selection of Futsal have another call for March next year to try to grab more players.
Naples Futsal will participate in February 2012 with a selection of children, juveniles and adults in the national event in Kansas where the Futsal National team coach will be.
